Theresa has always had a passion for community outreach and wellness education. She has worked in the healthcare industry for 26 years and feels that not only should healthcare professionals heal you when you are sick but they should teach you to be well. She moved here one year ago and discovered that the Space Coast did not have a Girls on the Run chapter and made it her mission to LAUNCH the program by Fall of 2014. When she is not working as a CFO at St. Mary's in Tucson, AZ and Holy Cross in Nogales, AZ, she enjoys being a mother to her three daughters Blake, Ashley and Jordan. She appreciates her husband Andre' who allows her the time to explore her passions such as giving back to the girls of the Space Coast!
Renee was born and raised in Melbourne/Palm Bay, Florida. She graduated from Bayside High School in 2004, and directly entered the Early Childhood Education program at Brevard Community College, then the University of Central Florida. She graduated from UCF with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in May 2008. She has been a teacher in Brevard County since August 2008. She has taught students in kindergarten, first, second, third, fifth, and sixth grade. During the 2015-2016 school year she became Teacher of the Year at her school, Westside Elementary, in Palm Bay. During her time as a teacher, her biggest focus has been on the social and emotional development of her students. All throughout her career she has seen the need that students have in these areas. Renee loves to spend time living an active, healthy lifestyle. Running has been something that she has recently found that brings joy to her life. In 2015, Renee found Girls on the Run Space Coast. She had been interested in starting a running program for girls at her school and when she found Girls on the Run she fell in love with the program and its ideals. She loved everything that the program represented. In the fall of 2015 she started her first season coaching a group of girls with Girls on the Run Space Coast, under the Director Theresa Mouton. The first season of Girls on the Run was a success and she fell more and more in love with the program. She cannot wait to see Girls on the Run Space Coast grow over the coming years and is excited to be a part of such an amazing program.

Suzy Fleming Leonard is a journalist with more than 30 years of experience at newspapers in Alabama, Louisiana and Florida. She has been an editor at FLORIDA TODAY since 1999. Suzy ran track for three years in high school after her athletic younger sister taunted her, saying she wouldn’t make it through a week of practice. She hated every second of it, but she sure showed her sister! She developed an appreciation for running about five years ago and has since gone on to complete multiple half-marathons. Suzy will never be fast, but she relishes the opportunity to share with others the sense of accomplishment gained by setting a seemingly impossible goal, then meeting it. She lives in Rockledge with her husband Steve, also a runner, and their standard poodle Earl, who has been known to run, too.
